Homeschooling
My youngest (of five) child is ten and a fifth grader. After watching the children of several different friends excel at homeschool, and doing tons of research I decided to homeschool my son, Jack. Last year (fourth grade) was our first year... no regrets! My child has developed a love for learning. We are using a challenging curriculum that does not even begin to compare to what he was offered in our public school system. Before I became sick and worked outside of our home, homeschooling was not an option- or so I thought (Silver lining #1 homeschooling) I am familiar with the arguments about socialization. We socialize! Jack is playing little league football, we are joining a 4-H group, and most importantly he is very involved with his age-group at our church. We start each morning with a prayer and Bible study then we hit the books and there is still plenty of time left for play and exercise! My two oldest children are in college. We have two children in high-school, a sophomore and a senior.
